This calligraphy calendar is for the year of 2014 with each month represented as a hand-lettered piece of calligraphy that was then scanned and vectorized. Each month can be torn away after each use and be recycled or used as scrap paper. One option is to also not tear off the paper, but rather roll up the bottom and pin it with a clip.
The calligraphy pieces were to be the main focus of this functional calendar, and not be drawn away by a busy, complex pattern, vibrant colors, or a graphic. The pieces in their purest form in red or black helps the main focus become the artwork. Each piece is in Gothic, Celtic, Bookhand, or Italic style, or a combination of both.
This original project was selected for SCAD Secession 2014 and can be found in the booklet PDF.
